School Profile
St. Vincent School is named after Vincent de Paul. His life's work was to provide for those in need. The St. Vincent de Paul Society is a philanthropic organization dedicated to serving and providing for the poor, in St. Vincent's honour. The feast day of St. Vincent is celebrated on July 19th.
Our school was built in 1967 as a Centennial project of the Fort William Separate School Board. Our current boundary extends from James Street to the North and West, the Neebing River to the South and the Neebing Floodway to the East.
St. Vincent School is a well maintained two-story building with spacious classrooms. We have a small but serviceable library which also houses the computer lab. A useful multipurpose room serves as gym, auditorium and lunchroom. Our school also provides space for the Learning Disabilities Class, a welcome group of special needs students from the south ward of our system who require, and benefit from, individualized programming offered with a low pupil-teacher ratio.
